Government sacks Petrobangla Chairman Arfanul after only three months
Dhaka, May 15 -- The government has sacked Chairman Md Arfanul Hoque from Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla) only three months into his tenure.
He has been transferred and attached to the Ministry of Public Administration, the ministry said on Thursday.
Arfanul, an additional secretary, took over as the head of the state exploration company on Feb 5 after serving in the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
A BCS Administration cadre officer of the 18th batch, he has served in field administration as a magistrate, assistant commissioner (land), and Upazila administrator during his career.
