Dhaka, May 3 -- Gas supply to Gulshan, Banani, Baridhara and adjoining areas in Dhaka has been suspended after a Titas Gas pipeline was damaged during Dhaka WASA work on the Gulshan-Badda Link Road.

In a notice on Sunday, Titas Gas said that valves had been shut to repair the leak and prevent possible damage to life and property.

"Gas supply to Gulshan, Banani, Baridhara and adjoining areas remains suspended. We sincerely regret the temporary inconvenience," it said.

The utility company did not say when supply would be restored.

Disruptions to gas supply in Dhaka due to excavation work by different agencies or emergency maintenance are not uncommon.
