Dhaka, Oct. 24 -- Former chairman of the capital development authority Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) Siddiqur Rahman Sarker has died.

He passed away around 11:30am on Friday at a friend's residence in Faridpur, according to RAJUK's Chief Urban Planner Md Ashraful Islam.

He told bdnews24.com, "An army officer informed me of the incident. Our PRO also shared the information in RAJUK's internal WhatsApp group. From what we know, he suffered a heart attack. He was visiting a friend in Faridpur."

Siddiqur was appointed chairman of RAJUK on contract for two years on Apr 4, 2024. His contract was cancelled on Sept 17 the same year, removing him from the post.
