Dhaka, Oct. 6 -- The water levels of the Teesta, Dharla, and Dudkhumar rivers in the Rangpur Division have increased over the 24 hours, but are likely to decrease over the following three days, according to the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC).

The Teesta is flowing 2cm above the danger level at Rangpur's Kaunia, it said in its regular bulletin on Monday.

The FFWC says the current flooding in the low-lying areas of Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Rangpur, and Kurigram districts is likely to improve gradually over the next 72 hours.

In the past 24 hours, the Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh divisions have seen heavy to very heavy rainfall, alongside heavy rainfall in India's West Bengal and Meghalaya states upstream from Bangladesh...
