Flood situation in Haor improves further as two more rivers fall below danger levels
Dhaka, May 11 -- The flood situation in the low-lying Haor areas of Netrokona, Habiganj, and Sunamganj has continued to improve as water levels in two more major rivers receded below their respective danger marks.
According to the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC), the Bhogai-Kangsa rivers in Netrokona and the Sutang in Habiganj are now flowing below the pre-monsoon danger level following a significant reduction in rainfall.
"The overall situation is on an improving trend," FFWC Executive Engineer Manzur Rahman told bdnews24.com on Monday afternoon.
"On Sunday, five rivers in the northeast were flowing above danger levels at five points. That number dropped as the Bhogai-Kangsa and Sutang receded," he said.
