Dhaka, April 18 -- The inaugural Hajj flight from Bangladesh has arrived in Saudi Arabia to set off this year's pilgrimage.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG 3001 touched down at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah at 4:20am local time, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Md Delwar Hossain, Bangladesh ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and Md Kamrul Islam, the Hajj counsellor, received the Muslim devotees at the terminal.

All 419 passengers on the first flight received flowers and refreshment kits upon their arrival.
