Dhaka, April 6 -- A fire has broken out in the server room of Sylhet's Osmani International Airport late in the night, contained within half an hour by the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Fire Service Inspector Jishu Talukdar said two units were dispatched after the fire was reported around 11:45pm on Sunday.

Firefighters managed to contain the flames by 12:30am, though smoke continues to linger.

Airport Director Hafiz Ahmed told journalists that all flights had concluded for the day before the fire erupted, ensuring no disruption to operations.

Airport Police chief Sahidur Rahman said firefighters were still on site.

The cause and extent of damage remain unclear.
