Bangladesh, Aug. 6 -- A fire has broken out at the residence of Pakistan's high commissioner in Dhaka's Gulshan.

The Fire Service and Civil Defence responded to a call at 4:56am and brought the flames under control by 5:10am.

High Commissioner Imran Haider and his wife Naima Haider received initial treatment at a Gulshan hospital following the incident.

Anwarul Islam, an official at the Fire Service's central media cell, said two units from the Baridhara Fire Station were dispatched and extinguished the blaze.

No casualties were reported.

He said an electrical appliance may have sparked the fire.

"A television was found burnt there. The fire likely started from the television or another electrical device," he said.
