Dhaka, Oct. 14 -- The Fire Service has brought the blaze that broke out at the Drug International Limited pharmaceutical factory of in Gazipur's Tongi under control after four and a half hours of effort.

Fire Service and Civil Defence Media Cell Officer Md Talha Bin Zasim said the fire at the factory was reported at 10:10am.

Twenty firefighting units were sent to the scene to extinguish the blaze. At one point, the Army and BGB joined the firefighting effort.

The Fire Service says that the fire was brought under control at 1:55pm through their combined efforts. However, the fire has yet to be completely extinguished.
