Dhaka, April 6 -- Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has presented the list of the country's top 20 loan defaulters in parliament, providing a stark picture of non-performing loans in Bangladesh's banking sector.

According to the minister, as of Dec 31, 2025, total non-performing loans in the banking sector stood at nearly Tk 5.45 trillion.

The disclosure came during a question-and-answer session on Monday.
