Dhaka, Feb. 13 -- Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said the BNP will implement its election manifesto and "reflect the people's aspirations" if it forms the next government

Speaking to journalists at his Thakurgaon residence around 10pm on Thursday, the secretary general said: "We are leading. God willing, we will secure a majority."

"The final results are yet to come, but we are ahead."

"If given the opportunity, we will try to reflect the people's aspirations."

Fakhrul is contesting the Thakurgaon-1 seat under the Sheaf of Paddy symbol and is currently leading in most polling centres in the constituency.
