Dhaka, Oct. 25 -- Senior BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called on the political parties that signed the July National Charter to "unite" to create a conducive environment for the national elections.
The party's secretary general made this comment at a discussion meeting organised at the Shilpakala Academy on Saturday to mark the 21st founding anniversary of the Daily Naya Diganta.
Fakhrul said, "The national elections are scheduled to be held by February 2026. I hope the reform issues will be resolved by then."
The government and Election Commission are preparing to hold the next election before Ramadan in February.
