Dhaka, April 8 -- Former Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Aminul Islam Bulbul has asserted himself as the board's "only legitimate leader", denouncing the National Sports Council (NSC) report as flawed, reckless, and legally invalid.

He calls the dissolution of the elected board and the formation of an ad-hoc committee under Tamim Iqbal "a constitutional coup".

In a media statement on Tuesday night, Bulbul rejected the "so-called investigation report" and categorically denied any irregularities in the Oct 6, 2025 BCB election.

He said, "I am unequivocally the duly elected BCB president. The NSC report submitted on Apr 5, 2026, is flawed, reckless, and legally unacceptable, with no basis in law or the BCB Constitution."
