Dhaka, May 12 -- Etihad Airways is set to resume flights on the Dhaka-New York route after a closure of nearly two and a half years.

The flights will operate again on this route starting next June, an event in New York was told on Monday.

Mohammad Anwar, global sales manager of the UAE-based airline, said for the first four months until October, four flights will operate per week on the Dhaka-Abu Dhabi-New York route.

If the expected number of passengers is met over the period, the service will become permanent, he said.
