Dhaka, March 21 -- A long-running feud has turned deadly in Chuadanga's Alamdanga Upazila as two factions of the BNP clashed after Eid prayers, leaving two people dead and at least five others injured.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in Chhatrpara village under Dauki Union, said Alamdanga Police chief Bani Israel.

The dead were identified as Nazim Uddin Kazi, 75, and Shimul Kazi, 18, both residents of the village.

Among the injured, Asiya Begum and Shariful Islam were critically hurt and sent to Kushtia Medical College Hospital.

Police have yet to identify the others.

Police and witnesses said tensions flared between the two groups after Eid prayers over prior disputes, escalating into a violent clash by noon.
