Dhaka, April 6 -- Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has said a separate pay scale should be introduced solely for teachers.

He made the remarks on Monday afternoon while speaking at a discussion with Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examination centre secretaries at Tarek Smriti Auditorium in Mymensingh.

At the event, a teacher asked about the government's plan to retain talented individuals in the teaching profession. In response, the minister said the financial support given to teachers should not be measured against other pay structures, as such comparisons often lead to disputes, legal battles and protests.
