Dhaka, Dec. 23 -- Education Advisor Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar has said the government will bear the expenses of the wife and children of Dipu Chandra Das, a Hindu garment worker who was lynched and burned by a mob over allegedly for insulting Islam.

He made the remarks while expressing his condolences on behalf of the government at Dipu's house in Banihala Union in Tarakanda Upazila of Mymensingh on Tuesday.

He said, "Dipu's family is not alone. We are by his side in such a crisis.

"The government will talk to his wife and children and provide them with all kinds of financial and legal assistance."
