Bangladesh, July 9 -- East West University (EWU) has launched its 'Foreign Language Center' to boost employability, global connectivity and language education.

The opening ceremony was held Thursday at the university's Manzur Elahi Auditorium.

Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Saida Shinichi, chief guest at the event, called the centre a timely step to prepare students for the global stage, and thanked EWU for choosing Japanese as its first language course.

Prof Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson of the EWU Board of Trustees, chaired the programme.

He said the centre aligns with the prime minister's call for learning a third language and would help students become global graduates.
