Dhaka, Feb. 6 -- The Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) has suspended its scheduled "mass gathering" following a direct request from Inqilab Moncho as clashes with police continue to rock the capital.
DUCSU General Secretary SM Farhad announced the decision during a press conference outside the DUCSU building at 9:30pm on Friday.
He noted that the student body initially expected the interim government to deliver swift justice following the nationwide outcry over Sharif Osman bin Hadi's murder.
The student leader described the DMP commissioner's personal presence during the crackdown on protesters as a "shameless display of mockery toward a legitimate movement".
