Dhaka, Feb. 26 -- Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has suspended an executive engineer for "negligence" and "misconduct" following complaints of irregularities in road construction and repair work in the Mohammadpur area.

Md Mizanur Rahman, the acting executive engineer of DNCC Zone-5, was handed the suspension order on Thursday.

The notice, signed by DNCC Secretary Muhammad Asaduzzaman, cited inefficiency, misconduct, and professional negligence as grounds for the action.

The suspension comes just 24 hours after State Minister for Education Bobby Hajjaj conducted a field inspection of ongoing road projects in Mohammadpur on Wednesday.
