Bangladesh, Aug. 4 -- Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced a multi-layered security plan, including tighter searches at all entry points to the capital, for the observance of July Mass Uprising Day.

On Tuesday, police said the measures have been taken to maintain law and order and ensure public safety during Wednesday's observance.

Additional security arrangements have been put in place at key locations across the capital to guard against "possible sabotage, untoward incidents or threats to public safety".
