Dengue: 7 die, another 1,753 hospitalised
Dhaka, Sept. 16 -- Bangladesh has recorded seven more dengue deaths in a 24-hour count, alongside 1,753 hospitalisations across the country.
The government's death toll has now reached 171, including 74 deaths in September -- the highest monthly figure so far this year.
According to Wednesday's Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin, the Khulna Division recorded the highest number of fatalities in the 24 hours to 8am on Tuesday, with three deaths.
One death each was reported in Chattogram, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Rangpur divisions.
During the period, 175 patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka North and 174 in Dhaka South.
Outside the two city corporations, 394 were admitted elsewhere in the capital.
