David Emon remanded for 5 days over extortion case
Bangladesh, Aug. 12 -- A court in Chattogram has placed alleged criminal Mobarak Hossain Emon, also known as David Emon, on a five-day remand in an extortion case filed with Hathazari Police Station.
Following a hearing on Wednesday afternoon, Chattogram Judicial Magistrate Lokman Hakim granted the remand petition.
Court Inspector Habibur Rahman told bdnews24.com that police had sought seven days' remand to question Emon in the case. After the hearing, the judge granted them five days to question him in police custody.
Earlier, on Aug 2, police secured five days' remand for Emon in a murder case filed with Fatikchhari Police Station and another five days in an arms case.
