Dhaka, Feb. 24 -- A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of income tax records of Shafiq Siddiqi, husband of Sheikh Rehana, in connection with an investigation into alleged illicit wealth amounting to nearly Tk 87.5 million.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Sabbir Faiz passed the order on Tuesday after a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), according to bench assistant Riyaz Hossain.

ACC Assistant Director Ismail Hossain sought the order, stating in the petition that Shafiq had allegedly acquired assets worth Tk 86.54 million beyond his known sources of income and remained in possession of the wealth.
