Dhaka, March 30 -- A Dhaka court has granted police six days to interrogate retired former director of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) Md Afzal Naser in connection with a murder during the July Uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Hasib Ullah Pias passed the order following a hearing on Monday, confirmed Dhaka Metropolitan Public Prosecutor Omar Faruq Faruqi.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch (DB) arrested Afzal in his Mirpur DOHS residence in Dhaka early in the morning.

The investigating officer of the murder case, DB Sub-Inspector Kafil Uddin, produced him in court requesting seven days to question him in custody.
