Dhaka, Jan. 13 -- A Dhaka court has ordered the freezing of shares worth Tk 46.4 million registered in the names of former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed and five others.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Sabbir Faiz gave the order on Tuesday following an application from the Criminal Investigation Department.

The other five individuals whose shares have also been frozen are former UCB Bank director Anisuzzaman Chowdhury Ronny, former Meghna Bank director Imrana Zaman Chowdhury, and Abul Kashem, Nasim Uddin Mohammad Adil, and Utpal Pal, confirmed bench assistant Riaz Hossain.
