Dhaka, March 30 -- RS Fahim Chowdhury, a content creator who was apprehended by a "mob" outside the Mirpur National Zoo, has been sent to jail over alleged involvement in a murder linked to the July Uprising.

Fahim was presented before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam on Monday in a case filed with Gulshan Police, according to state counsel Muhammad Shamsuddoha Suman.

With the investigation officer on leave, the Gulshan Police chief took Fahim to court, which set Tuesday for his bail hearing.

"The defence lawyers initially requested bail for Fahim, but the state was prepared to oppose it," Suman said.

The defence then informed the court that they would formally pursue the bail petition on Tuesday.
