Complaint filed over alleged bounty targeting 'July warriors' in Narail
Bangladesh, July 7 -- A complaint has been filed with police in Narail alleging that bounties were offered on social media for assaulting people who took part in the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in 2024.
The written complaint was submitted to Narail Sadar Police Station at around 10:30pm on Monday by Amirul Islam Rana, member secretary of the local unit of the Students Against Discrimination Movement, police station chief Ajay Kumar Kundu said.
The complaint names 11 people as accused.
Those named include Md Mizanur Rahman Nayan, senior vice-president of the Bangabandhu National Council in Narail; Sourav Karmakar, the organisation's vice-president; Md Sajibul Islam Hridoy, a resident of Kundashi village in Lohagara upazila and...
