Bangladesh, Aug. 25 -- Police have sought a seven-day remand to interrogate content creator Tawhid Afridi in connection with a murder case linked to the July Uprising.

Md Erfan, CID's investigation officer, filed the remand petition on Monday.

Around 11:30am, he told reporters: "A seven-day remand application will be made for Tawhid Afridi."

Tawhid, son of Nasir Uddin, chairman and managing director of the private television channel MyTV, was detained by a CID team in Barishal on Sunday night.

Barishal Metropolitan Police Commissioner Shafiqul Islam confirmed the arrest, saying: "CID members from Dhaka arrested him with our help."

He added that Tawhid's location was tracked "with the help of information technology".
