Dhaka, Dec. 18 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has found no evidence to substantiate assault or acid attack allegations against Bangla film actor Monowar Hossain Dipjol in a case filed by a young woman who identified herself as his fan.

Police Sub-Inspector Sultan Mahmud submitted the final investigation report to the court on Nov 24, saying the complaint appeared to have been made to "socially defame" Dipjol and his associate Md Faisal.

Rashida Akter's lawyer, Qayyum Hossain Nayan, told bdnews24.com on Monday that the victim intends to submit a naraji (non-confidence) petition against the report.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jamshed Alam has set Jan 14 for its submission.
