Dhaka, April 16 -- A Chattogram court has granted bail to Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, spokesperson for the Sanatani Jagaran Jote, in a case filed by BNP leader Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin almost three years ago.

Judicial Magistrate Shakhawat Hossain passed the order on Thursday after hearing the bail petition moved by defence lawyer Krishna Prasad Sharma, who said his client will not be released now because he stands trial in a murder case.

Chinmoy was in Chattogram Central Jail during the hearing.

He was the principal of Pundarik Dham in Mekhal Union of Hathazari Upazila and the district unit general secretary of ISKCON when the BNP leader sued him for alleged theft, land grabbing and vandalism.
