Bangladesh, May 29 -- Dark "measles" rashes cover little Maisha's body, who is still a few days short of turning one. A cannula is attached to her tiny hand.

While Muslims in Bangladesh celebrated Eid-ul-Azha on Thursday, Maisha's father Manik Hossain walked slowly through the corridor of the DNCC Dedicated Covid Hospital in Mohakhali, carrying her in his arms.

As he paced the corridor, Manik said it was the first time in nearly a week that Maisha had been able to leave her hospital bed and carried around outside.

"Since the rashes appeared, my daughter hasn't smiled. A few days ago, her condition was very serious, but now she is better. My daughter's smile is my Eid," he said.
