Dhaka, March 31 -- A 6-month-old child has died at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) while showing symptoms of measles.
The infant, brought from Cox's Bazar on Monday night, was under ICU care at CMCH but could not be saved, officials said on Tuesday.
Brig Gen Taslim Uddin, director of the hospital, told bdnews24.com that the child exhibited measles-like symptoms.
"The infant died while receiving intensive care. Samples were sent from Cox's Bazar to Dhaka to confirm whether it was measles, but the report has not yet been received," he said.
At the moment, 32 children are admitted to the hospital's measles corner, including four confirmed measles cases, highlighting a concerning trend in the region.
