Bangladesh, Aug. 30 -- International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam says investigators have found a lead linking a cultural figure to the murders of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Meherun Runi.

The lead emerged while reviewing call detail records (CDRs) during an investigation into another case, he told reporters at his office on Sunday.

"We cannot disclose the name or identity, but we can say that a connection between a cultural figure and the Sagar-Runi incident was found through CDR analysis," Aminul said.

He said the person's information was under surveillance and would be shared with the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) if further investigation produced reliable evidence.
