Dhaka, Feb. 11 -- Highlighting the security measures in place for Thursday's general election, Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin has reiterated his Election Commission's commitment to holding peaceful, credible, and participatory polls.

He made the remarks during a briefing for foreign journalists and observers at the InterContinental Dhaka hotel on Wednesday.

"As we approach election day -- which is tomorrow -- I wish to reaffirm the election commission's unwavering commitment to delivering a peaceful, credible and participatory election," he said.

"Comprehensive security and coordination arrangements are in place with the support of law-enforcing agencies and the government of Bangladesh."
