Dhaka, Dec. 23 -- Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin has said assurances from the field administration and police have boosted his confidence about holding a fair election.
He ordered election officials and police to maintain neutrality to ensure the credibility of the parliamentary polls and referendum.
The order was among several instructions given to field-level officials at a views-exchange meeting at Nirbachan Bhaban on Tuesday.
"Do not take sides and carry out your duties professionally and impartially," Nasir said.
"The assurances from the field administration and the police to ensure a fair election have immensely boosted my confidence," he added.
