Dhaka, May 13 -- A case has been filed after a man dragged a student into a bush on the Jahangirnagar University campus and attempted to rape her. He is suspected to be an outsider to the campus.

The university administration says that the incident took place after 11pm on Tuesday in an area near the newly expanded section beside the old Fazilatunnesa Hall and Al-Beruni Hall.

On Wednesday morning, Md Gafrul Hasan Chowdhury, the deputy registrar of the university's security wing, filed a case of attempted rape and attempted murder with the Ashulia Police Station as the plaintiff, accusing an unknown individual.

Several attempts were made to contact Ashulia Police chief Rubel Howlader for comment on the case, but he could not be reached....
