Dhaka, Oct. 22 -- Days after the devastating fire at Dhaka's Shahjalal International Airport, importers are still struggling to receive consignments as clearance drags and ad-hoc workarounds falter.
The worst hit are temperature-sensitive shipments -- vaccines and essential medicines -- that require uninterrupted cold-chain handling.
By 1pm on Tuesday, in front of Gate 9 at the airport's northern end, groups of clearing and forwarding (C&F) staff had been waiting since morning with no delivery in hand.
A Bangladesh Biman team eventually pushed out a trolley of Sanofi pharmaceuticals, which C&F agents rushed into temperature-controlled vans.
