Dhaka, Oct. 18 -- The Chief Advisor's Office (CAO) has said security agencies are conducting "thorough" investigations into the recent fire incidents amid growing public concern over a series of blazes across Bangladesh.

"We wish to assure all citizens that the security services are investigating each incident thoroughly and protecting lives and property with utmost vigilance," the statement issued by the CAO on Saturday said.

The statement came after a fire broke out at the import cargo complex of Dhaka's Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday.

Earlier, major fires in Chattogram and Dhaka's Mirpur caused significant damage and loss of life.
