Dhaka, June 26 -- Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan has been dismissed from his role as chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), just 11 months after he was appointed on deputation.

The decision was conveyed in an order issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday.

Without offering an explanation, the order said Monjur was being recalled to his position in the Armed Forces Division (AFD) under the Bangladesh Air Force.

It named no successor.

Monjur is currently in Cox's Bazar to attend a workshop arranged for CAAB officials.

Attempts to reach him were unsuccessful.
