Dhaka, Sept. 19 -- A passenger bus has caught fire while another has faced a suspected arson attempt in two separate incidents in Dhaka's Mirpur.

Fire Service and Civil Defence duty officer Rashed Bin Khalid said emergency teams received news of a moving Shikhor Paribahan bus catching fire beside Zamzam Tower in Mirpur-11 after 7pm on Saturday.

Two firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control, the official said.

"We suspect the fire was caused by a mechanical fault, though this will be confirmed after further investigation," he added.

No casualties have been reported in the incident, according to the Fire Service.
