Dhaka, June 1 -- A father and son have been killed after a Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) bus hit their motorcycle in Chattogram's Fatikchhari Upazila, triggering a retaliatory arson attack on the vehicle.

The accident occurred near Amtol under Paindong Union on the Chattogram-Khagrachhari regional highway, police said.

Following the incident, local residents set the bus on fire.

The dead have been identified as Md Shahjahan, 50, and his 18-year-old son Md Arif, both residents of Korballa Tila in Ward No. 2 of the union.

Fatikchhari Police chief Md Robiul Alam Khan said a bus coming from Khagrachhari towards Chattogram hit the motorcycle they were riding.
