Body of missing teen girl found in Narail river
Dhaka, May 12 -- Locals have recovered the body of a teenage girl who went missing while bathing in the Madhumati River in Narail's Lohagara Upazila.
Sheikh Shaha Alam, a member of Ward No. 2 of Kotakol Union 10 of the Upazila, said that locals recovered the body from Kumardanga Char Ichakhali around 10:30am on Tuesday.
The teenager, Seema Khanam, 14, hailed from the neighbouring Itna village. She lived in her grandmother Nurjahan Begum's house in Notunpara of Ghagha village. Family members said she had a mental disability.
Seema had gone to bathe in the Madhumati River with her grandmother on Sunday evening. At one point, she was swept away by the strong current of the river, Alam told bdnews24.com.
