Bangladesh, Aug. 21 -- A Dhaka court has discharged 65 people, including senior BNP leaders Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Mirza Abbas, in a case filed during anti-government protests in 2023.
On Thursday, Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib accepted a final police report that cleared Fakhrul, Abbas, and 63 others of charges under the Explosives Act.
Other leaders discharged in the case include the party's Standing Committee members Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, vice chairmen Shamsuzzaman Dudu and Barkat Ullah Bulu, former home minister Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, BNP Joint Secretary General Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon, and Chairperson's Advisor Zainul Abdin Farroque.
