Dhaka, July 19 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has paid a visit to Jamaat-e-Islami chief Shafiqur Rahman in the hospital, who fell ill during a rally.

He went to Dhanmondi's Ibn Sina Hospital around 8:30pm on Saturday, accompanied by the party's Standing Committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan.

Upon reaching the hospital, Fakhrul sat by the Jamaat chief's bedside and enquired about his health.

Shafiqur fell ill and collapsed on stage while delivering the closing address at the party's national rally at Dhaka's Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday afternoon.

He was helped to his feet by party leaders standing beside him and attempted to resume his address. However, he lost his balance and collapsed a second time within moments....
