Dhaka, Sept. 30 -- The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has dissolved its Dhaka North city unit committee, along with the Dhaka North units of its affiliated Jatiotabadi Jubo Dal and the Dhaka West unit of Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal.

The BNP and the two organisations announced the decisions in separate media statements around 10pm on Wednesday.

They also announced the expulsion of several leaders.

A BNP central office release said the existing 51-member Dhaka North city committee, led by convenor Md Aminul Haque and member secretary Md Mostafa Zaman, had been dissolved as directed.
