Dhaka, Feb. 7 -- BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has joined a campaign rally in Nilphamari after concluding his engagement in Thakurgaon.

On Saturday around 1:45pm, he climbed onto the stage at the High School Boro Math, where supporters greeted him with rousing applause.

He responded by waving to the crowd as the gathering swelled across the field.

This visit marks his first appearance in the district since December 2003, when the leader last visited to distribute winter clothing.

After the rally, Tarique is scheduled to fly by helicopter to the Birampur Government College ground in Dinajpur to address another public meeting.
