Dhaka, Feb. 19 -- An activist of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has alleged that his head and eyebrows were shaved as punishment for campaigning for an independent candidate in Mymensingh's Gouripur Upazila.
The victim, Abdul Mannan Talukdar, made the allegations during a media briefing at the Mymensingh Town Hall on Thursday.
Mannan, a member of the Gouripur Upazila BNP, had previously filed a case at Gouripur Police Station on Wednesday over the incident.
The primary accused has been identified as Shahi Munshi, president of the party's peasant wing's (Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal) Gouripur municipality unit, alongside six to seven unidentified individuals.
