Dhaka, Dec. 27 -- Andaleeve Rahman Partho, chairman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP), has entered the Bhola-1 race, potentially competing against a coalition ally.
Supporters submitted his nomination papers to the returning officer in Bhola on Saturday afternoon on his behalf.
While the BJP is an ally of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), former Bhola Municipality Mayor Golam Nabi Alamgir is already contesting the election from this seat with the BNP nomination.
Partho has not yet been allocated any seat as an ally of the BNP-led coalition.
Earlier, Partho had planned to run from Dhaka-17 in the Feb 12 election.
