Dhaka, June 23 -- Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Director (Ports and Transport) AKM Arif Uddin has been temporarily suspended.

The decision was taken after a video was published on social media that included allegations of corruption, misconduct, and a scandal involving a woman against him.

An office order signed by BIWTA Chairman Md Muhidul Islam informed this on Tuesday.

The office order said, "The image of the authority has been tarnished due to the publication of videos on various social media platforms alleging scandals, corruption and misconduct against AKM Arif Uddin.
